I’ve been dancing ballet ever since I was 6 years old. You have to agree with me that almost all girls wanted to become either a princess or a prima ballerina when they were younger. I wanted to become a princess (who doesn’t?) , but I guess I was more of a ballerina. Pink tutus, ballet slippers, tiaras and the spotlight were what I’ve desired for when I was a child. I told my mom to enroll me at a ballet school in Cebu and the next day classes begun! It was so fun I tell you — from learning the different ballet positions, plie’s, jete’s, and next thing(after 7 years ofcourse) … pointe shoes. It was such a fulfillment to finally wear pointe shoes and become part of the company’s apprentice. My hardwork and years of training surely paid off.

Sadly, after several months of being on pointe, I had to stop and focus on my academics.Rehearsals would end around midnight and there was no time for me to study. So ballet dancing stopped and I was heartbroken for awhile. Not easy of letting go of something you’re really passionate about it. It’s been almost 4 years since I last attended a ballet class.

I may not go to ballet school now, but that doesn’t mean my dancing days are over. I still participate in some school shows and events and possibly maybe returning in the near future.

This shoot was for Noelle’s photo exhibit last October 2010 at the Ayala Center Cebu Active Zone. I personally think this was one of my favorite shoots — love the concept, post-processing and photographers!
